The first heavy snow has fallen on the city, and it's simultaneously beautiful, and stifling.
Put on your hat and boots and gloves and go out just to listen... there is no silence quite like the silence of fresh-fallen snow.

I believe it is St. Augustine who describes true peace as the complete translation of the "inner man" to the "outer man." That is to say that, if you can truly, accurately, wholly embody all that is inside of you, then you will find yourself, finally, at peace. I am restless today. My inner man has woken up, and found my outer man clumsy, inept with a paintbrush, ineloquent, and tone-deaf. My dream of a world-set-right includes self-expression that is effortless and straightforward. That would be peace for me.
